Okay I understand the comparison to Shockey, but Tiki Barber? How can you say Tiki Barber was a locker room cancer? Maybe there’s something there that I don’t remember. I think Dallas will improve leaps and bounds…Jason Witten will be even more of a focal point for that offense now.
Dallas is blaming TO for everything that’s gone wrong is Jerry Jones way of saying things are fine in Dallas. The Cowboys are a Circus and Jerry’s the ring leader!Dumping TO wont change that.
I think this will help the team concentrate and become cohesive. All the drama beats a team up and affects their play. Now if the coaching staff can be improved, they could be superbowl bound.
Owens is a cancer, but these are professional football players, they should be able to play on Sunday regardless. Every one of us has problems and distractions, but we still go to work and do what we are asked to do. The Cowboy’s problem goes beyond Owens. There is too much Hollywood in Dallas. They need to just play ball the way they are capable. The coach isn’t direct enough. He doesn’t push his players to be the best they can be. They are not challenged. The Cowboys also do not have a leader. Someone needs to take charge and lead. Currently, they are not a “Team”. Loosing Owens will not make them a Champion. You have to play like a Champion every Sunday to be a Champion.
For the last two seasons, I’ve seen the haters saying the Cowboys will never win anything with TO because he causes trouble everywhere he goes. Now I’m seeing those same people saying the Cowboys are stupid for letting him go. Nobody is looking at the big picture. Right after the season, Jones said he would change his approach to the way he deals with the team, and Wade Phillips said the same thing. After that, they immediately cut Pacman. Now they have cut TO, who is arguably one of the best receivers in the league. Cutting TO also had a negative effect on the salary cap and it would have been cheaper to keep him. But it sends out a strong message to the rest of the team that nobody is expendable. What better way is there to instill discipline on a team than by getting rid of the biggest distraction, even if it means getting rid of one of their best playmakers? I’m not sure how this will affect the offensive production, but I commend Jerry Jones for finally thinking outside his own ego.
They will be -20% better. Meaning that they won’t be better w/o their 2nd best receiver (I’m gonna go ahead and say Jason Witten is their best.) Roy Williams will underachieve his whole career. And Romo is overrated and isn’t really a whole lot better than Drew Bledsoe was a few years ago. That’s the true story on why their offense is not as good as it should be.
How long will it be until people see that Romo is the real reason that team hasn’t won a big game. It isn’t TO, Tank, Whitten, etc.
Maybe if they give him a real backup this year (unlike the old man in Johnson and Brooks “why in the world is he still in the NFL” Bollinger, when he gets hurt again, you’ll see exactly how the team is different without him. Not much.
Losing TO was a PR move, nothing more. It was a “token” release to appease the media and show the team he’s serious. Only problem is, the ‘Boys will be worse without him. See how well Whitten and the other WRs (not to mention the running game), does without teams gameplanning for TO.
I think they will not be as good until they get used to him being gone. most of Romo’s touchdown passes where to T.O. I don’t think he was that much of a problem in the locker room I think most of that was the media asuming things. He seemed to have good chemistry in Dallas unlike in San Fran and Philly.
I don’t know about the Cowboys improving since they didn’t win a play off game the three years he was with them or the fact they didn’t win a play off game since 1996 he wasn’t a Cowboy those years. As much as I can’t stand TO or the Cowboys, he wasn’t the only reason the Cowboys haven’t succeeded lately in post season.. Some blame goes to Tony Romo as well
yeah right…im a huge cowboy fan but Roy Williams is not a #1 receiver…i hope im wrong though but TO gets the blame for everything..how can it be all TO’s fault and not the offensive coordinator Jason Garrett? don’t you think they have figured him out already…Garrett was fantastic his first year and it caught up with him but its always easier to point the finger than to take some part of the blame…
Yep, i agree with you %100
Owens ruins every team he is on.
I could not have said it anybetter. Cowboys will be better, I am glad Owens is gone.
In order for Dallas to improve they need a coach with leadership skills and a owner that stays off the field. The team has no discipline.
As a redskin fan I’m prety scared. No TO, no Pac man, no Tank. A team that will actually play as a team that’s scarey.

You answered your own question and you did a great job of it.

Now t hey can get back to being a T-E-A-M

There’s a reason he gets big contracts.

i dont think they will be productive, but it was a good idea to get rid of him.. cuz he is one BIG winer!lol
Owens made Romo fumble the ball three times in the last game against the Eagles…..yeah right.
